Air pumps, blowers, motors, gears and gearboxes, sub pumps, controls and alarms — serviced and repaired on domestic, commercial and industrial systems.
We service and repair sewage treatment plants and pumping stations of all makes and models — air pumps, blowers, motors, gears and gearboxes, sub pumps, controls and alarms — across Chesterfield, Derbyshire, Sheffield, Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire. 45+ years on these systems, with 24/7 help and advice. A treatment plant is a machine with bacteria living in it. Skip the servicing and two things happen: the mechanical parts wear out early, and the biology stops working — which is when the smell starts, the alarm sounds, and the effluent leaving the plant stops meeting the standard it is supposed to.
A proper service covers the moving parts and the process: air pump or blower output, diffusers, motor and gearbox, bearings, sub pumps and float switches, controls and alarms, filters and media, sludge levels and general condition. We service domestic plants, commercial installations, pubs, holiday parks, farms and industrial sites — and we service whatever make you have, not just the ones we sell.
Over 45 years we have worked on just about everything that has been put in the ground in this part of the country — rotating biological contactors, submerged aerated filter plants, blower-driven units, older septic tank conversions and one-off commercial installations. If the plate has rubbed off and nobody knows what it is, we can usually identify it on site and source the parts.
Most plants want servicing every six to twelve months, and most people would rather not have to remember. We put sites on a planned schedule — service, de-sludge and any parts in one visit — which keeps the system compliant, spreads the cost and stops small faults becoming a replacement plant. For commercial clients we handle the paperwork so the records are there when someone asks for them.
Where a plant genuinely is beyond economic repair, we will say so and quote for a replacement system rather than selling you repeat repairs.
We service and repair across Derbyshire — Chesterfield, Dronfield, Bolsover, Clay Cross, Matlock, Bakewell and the Peak District — Sheffield and South Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire (Mansfield, Worksop, Retford), the wider Midlands from Birmingham upwards, and north through Leeds and Yorkshire to the Kendal area.
Most manufacturers ask for a service every six to twelve months, and the General Binding Rules expect the system to be maintained in line with those instructions. Heavily used commercial plants often need servicing more frequently. We can put you on a planned schedule so it is not left to memory.
Yes — all makes and models, including older units where the manufacturer no longer supports them. If the badge has worn off we can usually identify the plant on site and source the right parts.
Treat it as urgent. An alarm usually means a pump has failed, a float has stuck or the level is rising, and ignoring it is how a nuisance turns into sewage in the garden or back up the pipe. Call us and we will talk you through what to check, then get someone out.
It depends on the condition of the tank itself. Mechanical parts — pumps, blowers, gearboxes, controls — are nearly always worth repairing. A cracked or collapsed tank, or a plant that can no longer meet the required discharge standard, is a replacement job. We will tell you honestly which one you have.
Yes. We run our own vacuum tankers, so a service and a de-sludge can be done together — one visit, one bill, and the plant is left running as it should.
Usually yes, provided we can reach it and get to the power supply if it needs isolating. We will leave the written service report, and anything that needs discussing we will phone about rather than leave in a note.
We carry the common consumables — diaphragm kits, filters, float switches and fittings for the makes we see most — so a lot of faults are fixed on the first visit. Tell us the make when you call and we will bring what is likely.
The honest indicators are the effluent itself and the service record. Clear, more or less odourless effluent from a plant that is aerating properly and has been de-sludged on schedule is doing its job. Cloudy or solid-laden effluent is not, whatever the machinery sounds like.
